Creativity in interior design
A good room does not start with furniture. It starts with a decision: where the light goes, what the empty space is for, and which material is allowed to speak first.
Creativity starts with the constraint
A room is not a blank page. A low ceiling, a window in the wrong place, a column in the middle of the floor — none of that blocks creativity. It is the reason a solution becomes specific.
Creativity in interiors is knowing what cannot move, then placing everything else around it.
An idea that only works in the rendering, and breaks when someone walks in, is not a room yet.
Light is the first material
Before the chair, before the paint, there is light. Which opening it comes from, at what hour, and which surface it lands on. Turning a curtain can make the same room feel like another one.
We do not add lamps until the room is bright enough. We decide which dark is allowed to stay, because shadow is part of the composition.
Materials have to survive ordinary days
Wood, stone, cloth, metal — each one ages in its own way. Creativity is not arranging them for the first photograph. It is choosing what still feels right after a year of someone living there.
A beautiful tabletop that is afraid of a water ring does not belong in a home. It belongs in a showroom.
We touch it, look at it under warm lamps, then again in window light. If a material only works in one kind of brightness, it is not ready for the room.
Empty space is also a design
A crowded room is not a room full of ideas. Leaving a gap is a harder decision than adding another object.
Creativity in interior design is finished when the person who lives there does not need to explain why everything is where it is.
